We are deeply saddened to share that Leelawati Adhikari passed away peacefully at her residence this morning, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a long and healthy life of 76 years, marked by strength, resilience, and devotion to her family. Born in Bhutan (Dagadzong, Immirey Block), she spent her early years there before enduring many years of hardship as part of the refugee community in Nepal, living in Beldangi-1, Sector D2-118, Jhapa. Despite life’s challenges, she remained strong throughout. In 2010, she was resettled in the United States, where she spent the past 15+ years building a life with her family. At the time of her passing, she was residing in Shippensburg, PA, with her son Rayan Adhikari, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and husband, all of whom she cherished deeply. Her life was a remarkable journey across countries and generations—one defined by endurance, love, and quiet strength. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
